OK ... what you see here is NOT the boat, it's the tailors-dummy, the clothes that will fit about the dummy will be the boat. At the moment I'm still building the dummy (building rig) in the exact shape the planks will follow. When the boat is built it will be removed from building jig (tailor's dummy). Waterproofing will be an ongoing task throughout the build. Hope that explains . thanks for expressing an interest in such a black art :)
Got your comment on the Titan Tug, glad there is some inspiration to be found. Things going a bit slower than expected. I've been waiting 2 weeks now for a shipment of screws to show up. Your project looks quite impressive also. Got the last sheet of plywood fitted up for the sides, then on to the bottom six sheets with some heavy bending at the bow. From the pictures of your form, it looks like you will be doing some of that bending also. I'll check in regularly to see how things progress
Keep up the good work my friend! Valerie
ReplyDeleteStill beavering away :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mr. Beaver - Do you treat the wood to make it waterproof at each stage or just at the end? Curious mind wants to know...l
